Data Analysis in the Internal Audit Department

The aim of this thesis is to present a draft model for better planning internal audit engagements of branch network of the bank. The first part deals with the internal audit. It presents and discusses the definition of internal auditing by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Other relevant disciplines are also included - external audit and assurance. The importance of these disciplines is demonstrated in the example of Enron. The thesis presents the International Professional Practices Framework, especially its key components - standards. The end of this section is devoted to a description of the individual parts of an internal audit project. The second part is dedicated to planning internal audit engagements. Planning is based on the risks, therefore, there is a description of banking risks. The conclusion of this section is devoted to the process of creating the Annual Audit Plan. The final part of this work presents a model created by the author which will help to improve the planning of internal audits of the branch network of banks.
Liberalization of the market versus network industry in state hands for example of postal service market and the Czech Post, state enterprise

Bachelor thesis is dealing with the liberalization of the postal service market in the Czech Republic. Thesis analyzes the selected issue in the practical part on the example of the Czech Post, state enterprise. It clarifies the areas and terms closely linked with the issue. Thesis also defines monopoly features and specifies the network industry. It deals with the privatization process, defines the essential features of the state-owned enterprise and other main business corporations. Text explains the theory of public choice and its related problems. It also focuses on postal license which commits to provide universal service. The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of past and current state of the postal market. Another objective is to analyze Czech Post enterprise particularly its economic activity and legal form. It turns out that the Czech Post is not now as lossy as it appears in public. We can predict decreasing trend in the evolution of revenues in the future with the help of related graph. Thesis objectives are met by composing the general development of the legislative and institutional changes. We can compare the legal forms of institutions and the extent of branch networks in each country with the help of a comparative analysis of European postal institutions. The Czech Republic does well - it is below the average. This allows to set conclusions and recommendations for our market. We mainly used issues of Post Partner project to examine the future development of the Czech Post.
The optimization of the branch network of Česká pošta company.

The subject of the thesis is the optimization of the branch network of Česká pošta company. Since 1th January 2013 the post market in the Czech Republic is fully liberalized, thus Česká pošta ensures the duties given by the post licence in a fully competitive environment without previous advantage of a postal reservation. For this reason in the thesis there are submitted possible solutions of ensuring the branches operation by the contractual relations with a suitable partner, which would mean observance of legal duties together with the ensuring of effective operations of the post offices.

Kuklová, K., Management of Distribution Channels Used by Commercial Banks and the Factors of Their Efficiency. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2014 The thesis deals with the distribution channels used by commercial banks. The first part draws from the expert literature and research papers and provides an overview of the possibilities of banking services distribution in various distribution channels. Specifically, it deals with the branch network as a typical distribution channel, franchised business locations as a new distribution channel and a network of independent intermediaries as an alternative distribution channel with a focus on retail products. The main part of the thesis evaluates the effectiveness of distribution channels and identifies the factors that have an impact on the sale of the selected banking products. Methodology work utilizes financial ratios of the financial analysis and the correlation analysis. Using these methods, the diploma thesis identifies factors influencing the efficiency of distribution channels. In the conclusion part, some recommendations for managing the distribution channels are proposed.
Electronic banking as a strategic advantage

This thesis is a comparative efficiency study of implementation of payment operations via electronic banking and bank branch network. The thesis used data of specific international bank operating in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with basic products, payment systems, describe the main forms of electronic banking and part is devoted to the economic benefits of electronic banking for the bank and for the client. The practical part consists of a cost analysis of payment operations realized via by electronic banking and bank branches. In conclusion of this thesis, these costs are compared and the result is a proposed new bank strategy.
